Looking to add awesome functionality to your WordPress website? After working with WordPress for a number of years now and building multiple client sites requiring different functionality, I have compiled my Ultimate WordPress Plugins Guide, these are WP Plugins I can’t live without.

The WP plugins listed below are tried and tested and are ones that I use regularly for new WordPress installations. Most are free, but I’ve included some of my favourite Premium plugins too. I hope you discover something new and useful for your WordPress web design project!

Better Delete Revision – FREE

Remove and delete old revision of posts, pages and related meta content completely then optimize Database: reduce size and optimization to speed up! Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order

Order Categories and all custom taxonomies terms (hierarchically) using a Drag and Drop Sortable javascript capability. No Theme update is required the code will change the query on the fly. If multiple taxonomies are created for a custom post type, a menu will allow to chose the one need sorted.

The Events Calendar is a carefully crafted, extensible plugin that lets you easily share your events. Beautiful. Solid. Awesome.

Get Page IDs – FREE


Because there are some dumbasses out there who believe that’s ok to let the user guess the page IDs, you will find a new page under tools menu that will help you with this. Enjoy!

Mailchimp – FREE


The best MailChimp plugin to get more email subscribers. Easily add sign-up forms and sign-up checkboxes to your WordPress website. MailChimp for WordPress lets you create a highly customizable sign-up form which you can display wherever you want it to display using a simple shortcode, widget or template function. You can also add sign-up checkboxes to various forms on your site, like your comment or contact forms.



Pretty Link Lite – FREE / Pro – $37 / $97


Shrink, beautify, track, manage and share any URL on or off of your WordPress website. Create links that look how you want using your own domain name! Pretty Link Lite enables you to shorten links using your own domain name (as opposed to using tinyurl.com, bit.ly, or any other link shrinking service)! Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin – FREE


Redirect Pages/Posts to another page/post or external URL. Has edit box as well as global options. Specify the redirect Location and type. For PHP5+. This plugin adds adds an option box to the edit section where you can specify the redirect location and type of redirect that you want, temporary, permanent, or meta.



Velvet Blues Update URLs – FREE


If you move your WordPress website to a new domain name, you will find that internal links to pages and references to images are not updated. Instead, these links and references will point to your old domain name. Velvet Blues Update URLs plugin fixes that problem by helping you change old urls and links in your website.

WP Author Box Lite – FREE

This means you use the same uploader and library as your posts. No extra folders or image editing functions are necessary.

WP Remote – FREE


WP Remote is a free web app that enables you to easily manage all of your WordPress powered sites from one place.
